    10 Downer

excellent wine/beer list, excellent atmosphere, excellent service. food, not so excellent. if the chef would taste the food before it went out, maybe there wouldnt be a problem. starters: two specials: a tomato salad with parmasean crisps, and a baked cauliflower with poached egg. both had very very strange aftertastes. cheese crisps especially strange tasting! dinner: herb roasted chicken panzanella salad; generous portion, but beyond bland and flavorless. patatas bravas with aïoli; potatoes and aoili both had strange aftertaste as well as being undercooked. maybe we just caught the kitchen on a bad night. dinner was 120 for two people, which is a lot when the food was practically inedible where we were contemplating a second dinner. FIX UP!

    Neighborhood Charm !

One of the best meals I've had in a very long time, absolutely amazing ! Everything we ordered was tasty and well priced. Great affordable wine list with a lot of diversity, and nice choice of by the glass.wines. Staff very pleasant and helpful with great recommendations. One of the nicest greetings I had from walking into a restaurant, bartenders also extremely nice while I was waiting for my husband to arrive. The room is gorgeous with windows all around you that open to a terrace. Art work donated by various artists that on the walls, absolutely stunning!! Perfect night out. I will definitely be back.

    Gone downhill

Weekday evening, outside table. Very very slow service, took about an hour and a half from ordering to main courses arriving. Kitchen clearly overwhelmed, the food (which can be very good, I had an excellent brunch earlier in the year) was ok, but a little less than hot, and not quite put together properly. I'll go back for brunch (preferably early, before it fills up), but I'd wouldn't go again for dinner.

    Disappointing

My friend and I were able to secure an outdoor table on a beautiful evening and thought we were all set for a super night of dining. Boy were we disappointed. Our fish entrees arrived after an inordinately lengthy time and they were cold, even after the waiter had so graciously informed us that he was concerned about the extended preparation time and had inquired on our behalf. It is possible that the food may have tasted better when it was warm, or even hot, but when you hand someone a plate of cold fish, or even 2 plates of cold fish, and it's not salmon on a bagel, the resulting opinion is invariably a negative one. My dish was char and hers was the skate special. The char was bland in addition to being cold. The skate was overly peppery, in addition to being cold. As a dessert we ordered the chocolate cake, which was very tasty. We were also given an additional dessert to appease us. The second dessert was a lemon flan type sweet and it was a bit too tart. Overall, I would say the location is great, with a lovely spacious outdoor seating area, but the food needs to improve tremendously.

    Very Good

We had a great time Saturday night. We ordered the crayfish risotto (slightly undercooked but great broth), boccalo fritters (very meaty and tasty), suckling pig (waiter's suggestion and excellent), and Crabmeat Agnolitti. Service was very good and they gave us a great corner table. Definitely going back.

    nice

I Love this place. It's beautiful, the food is good and the service great. I'd reccomend it to anyone looking for a very cool, laid back, New York City restaurant.
