    No Dim Sum

Dim sum was adverised next to the name of the restaurant. But no dim sum was available inside. The waiter keep pointing to the small appetizer menu. A complete disappointment.

    Better than Ever!

My wife and I have been bringing friends here for over ten years, and the delicious food, the low prices, and warm service are all better than ever. There are unfortunately some labor racketeers who have targeted this place for payoffs. The NLRB has ruled that the labor racketeers have no case at all, and I assure you that none of the hoodlums out front have EVER worked in this restaurant. It's as crowded as ever inside, for West Siders can't resist a bargain. I just found out this Sunday that they're offering sushi as well. My wife and I tried it, and found it delicious--and just as much a bargain as their other food.

    Is it worth it?

Saigon Grill was was such a welcome addition to the neighborhood when they opened on 87th & B'way. The family that opened it was friendly and welcoming, the food, addictive. The food is still as delicious as ever, but after they relocated to 90th & A'dam, the prices soared and the service became curt and snarlish. Is it still worth patronizing?

Decent Food, Declining Value, Rude Service = Lost Business.

Ah, how I remember this place fondly from six or seven years ago. Back then it was really good food, good value, fast & friendly service. Times change. And how. But hearing that ownership had changed (and feeling nostaligc) I decided to give it another try. The food is still pretty good, but the portions have become noticeably smaller. The prices, however, have increased at least 40%, making this place not so much of a good value anymore. The deciding factor, however, which will make it another couple of years before I think about returning is the new rude, uncooperative service. 5 years ago, they'd make you whatever you ordered. Ask for an off-menu combo now and hear the order taker lose it. To compound the matter, the order taker's less-than-perfect command of English led me to understand she was accepting the order, when in fact she was refusing it (for reasons unclear). How a kitchen can't combine grilled eggplant and sauteed green beans will remain a mystery to me. Recommendation: Tough call. There are still a couple of things on the menu that I like a lot, and that they still do well. But it's overpriced now, and the rude service is really off-putting. Adapt or die, Saigon Grill.

    Excellent Food & Service

There are a lot of picketers out front trying to get this restaurant to fire staff they've had for years and replace them with union staff who've never worked there before. I've been coming here since 2007. Tonight (Dec 4 2011) was the first time I've eaten here in about a year, and the food and service, as usual, were great. The picketers need to get a life.
