Most overpriced diner
Just add $5 to anything you might buy elsewhere and you have got their price. Cramped and noisy particularly on weekends. The small booth right outside the restrooms is always available.

dont buy the bacon
madison restaurant is good for what it is.. a diner with a good selection of food.the belgian waffles are awesome but be sure not to order anything on the side with out asking the price. A side of bacon is six dollars and a fruit cup is close to 5 dollars.

Great Old School Diner
I have lived in the area for years, and Madison can be counted upon for well prepared diner food. The menu is extensive, and the portions reflect good value for money. I tend to stick with the breakfast dishes which are very good. (try the hashbrowns). The high demand/wait for tables on weekends tells the story. I have always found the service to be very attentive and polite. The latter cannot always be said for the patrons.

Customer service and portion size has shrunk dramatically.
Have been ordering from here for over 10 years. Tonight, for the first time, I called with a complaint. Portion size on one item was so small it was ridiculous. The manager was completely uninterested. Would rather lose customers than do the right thing.

Times have changed
This once incredible diner is now just a plain diner at best, but well overpriced. I would suggest Moonstruck over Madison. We used to frequent this establisment three times a week. But lately we go once every two months as a last resort meal. The food has gone down hill from when we first moved to this area in 2004. Delivery is horrible. One night we ordered our meal and had to call after an hour to find out what happened to our order. The night manager was rude to my wife and she finally cancelled everything. Save your money.

Quality... for a price
The cons: The service isn't always fast in the restaurant or delivery and prices are about an average 1-2 dollars more then you would find at most diners. The Pros: When they say fresh they mean it and the quality of cooking has never been sub par for me I happen to love their "homefries" (which in truth are shoe string hashbrowns) and the grapefruit juice is a glass of lovely. I've only ever had breakfast there, but I've never walked away dissatisfied. Yes I would like it more if the prices were friendlier, but welcome to midtown east, even the street side fruit is more expensive here. I keep coming back to this place because the quality, very often outweigh the cons

Typical Diner
I like to make my rounds through local neighborhood diners. This was a new suggestion, so I went. I got a grilled cheese, it was a pretty standard grilled cheese. Wheat bread, american cheese. Good. My friend got corned beef hash with sunny side up eggs. He said it was good. I had some of what I'll assume were supposed to be home fries, they were severly lacking in flavor
