The most unappetizing fried chicken I have ever put in my mouth. I hail from the South so I try not to be a snob about fried chicken. I mean, how hard is it to batter and fry up a chicken? Not very. If chains can get it right every. single. time. how can someone make a mockery of such a simple dish, put it on their menu and charge people for it. I ordered it for delivery and afterward I read here to never do delivery. I won't ever again. But I have ordered plenty or fried chicken delivery from other places that is flawless when it gets to me so didn't see them harm. This was just someone not knowing what they were doing. The chicken was totally under cooked, the crust was barely done and the entire thing was super soggy from being delivered. There is nothing worse than having your mouth set on something and it ends up being totally disappointing, ruining your dinner and, well, night. Thanks for ruining my night, Delicatessen. I shan't be retuning.

    No welcome here

I went to Delicatessan on a Monday night at 7 with no reservation. My boyfriend and I were meeting a friend so we would be a table of 3. We walked into a pretty empty restaurant, told the hostess, and told her we'd have a drink at the bar while we waited for our friend. Our friend showed up and we told the hostess. She was going to seat us by the door but we said we preferred to sit elsewhere since it was pretty cold out. She said it would be about ten minutes because she had other reservations. A few other people showed up and were seated in the back but she just let us continue waiting and ignored us. After about 20 minutes, we decided we would go elsewhere since we didn't feel like dropping our money at a place that so obviously didn't care about our business. When we complained, she said she didn't want to overwhelm the waiters with too many tables at the same time. Why we could have sat at the cold front table and gotten service but not sat down at another table was not explained. We ended up a Lucky Strike and it was so warm and welcoming! No wonder Lucky Strike has been in business for so long.! Passed by Delicatessan in a cab on the way home and it was still pretty empty.

    never order delivery

the food will definitely come cold! i ordered for delivery twice from them and it took them about an hour each time! they simply are horrific when it comes to that. the food is OK but the service simply blows.

    OMG Caesar Salad!

i am not even sure if i spelled that write but seriously this is the hands down BEST ceaser salad ever in the history of the salad lol- the lettuce is fresh and crisp, tons of hard parmesan cheese flakes, delicious homeade croutons and a PERFECT dressing! plus i put the seared tuna on top and OMG YUM! so fresh and NOT fishy! -- amazing-- and a side of parmesan truffle fries just sets the whole thing to perfection! The grilled veggie pita sandwich is amazing too! go go go- other then the ridiculous 'model lounge' downstairs, I love this place and the friendly staff who told me i have a cool voice and even remembered what i order... the SALAD! haha

    Not that great

The food selection is not that big, waitress was really clueless, and food not really good (at least what we ordered) The place is nice looking though.

    Great Comfort Food

I recently came here with some girlfriends for dinner. We were all very happy with everything. The drinks were strong and good. Our waitress wasn't on top of everything but she was pleasant. We had a variety of appetizers which were all amazing. Most of us had the fried chicken for our entree which was fab. We were too full to have dessert but the list look amazing. It's a good value for good comfort food. The atmosphere is very nice too. I would return.
