Absolute best Indian in the neighborhood if not the city. Comfortable environment without being NYC "cozy." In other words, you're not cramped and your table is more than 6 inches from the loud boor next to you; a nice respite in the UES. Service is generally excellent, with a relaxed, non-pushy team approach. My girlfriend never liked Indian food because it was "too spicy." I finally explained that this is an often-held misconception; spices don't have to burn your tongue and Indian usually doesn't, outside a nice curry, which they actually made hot enough for me to enjoy (I eat habaneros straight and drink the juice from the jar, seriously). She ate there with me twice, getting Chicken Tikka Masala and, within a week of our second visit, asked if I wanted to go again because she had a craving. The food is that good, give this place a try.

Have been taking out or eating at most of the top Indian restaurants in NYC and this is one of the best. They are attentive to any special requirements and selection is great. I highly recommend to any and all fans of Indian food.

The food is great! Cant beat the lunch buffet for the price. A little too much on the in your face service though I appreciate the intentions. Here's the catch...order a second cup of coffee and they will charge you another 3 bucks! A little heads up would of been nice since this is out of the norm in restaurants.

we ordered saag paneer and it was tasteless ! naan was undercooked . Not even close to 3* and will never go back.

We have been ordering from Andaz since we moved here two years ago and we love it. Tonight we ordered but received chicken vindaloo instead of saa paneer. I called them, and in 10 m saag paneer was here, yummy as ever and at no extra charge. We tried to tip again the delivery man, but he refused. This is outstanding service. Thank you Andaz!

Best I have had outside of India!

Friendly service but food isn't to my liking. Chicken dish lacked flavor and tasted more tomato-ey than i perfer.
